Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive - 2014/30/EC

Electricity pylons

The EMC Directive applies to all electronic or electrical products liable to cause or be disturbed by an electromagnetic disturbance. As a result a large number of manufacturers in the electronics or electrical industries need to ensure that their products are compliant with the requirements of the Directive and be able to demonstrate that this is the case in order to affix a valid CE Marking to them.

Technology International EMC Directive Notified Body services

Technology International (Europe) Limited has been a Notified Body for the EMC Directive since 2007, and prior to that was a ‘Competent Body’ under a previous version of the Directive.

As a Notified Body, appointed by the UK Government, Technology International can review and assess the content of technical documentation compiled by manufacturers to demonstrate conformity to the EMC Directive.

Based on these reviews, known as EC-Type Examinations, Technology International can provide independent verification that the technical information compiled and presented by a manufacturer is sufficient to demonstrate conformity with the requirements of the EMC Directive.

For some manufacturers working in highly regulated industries, having third-party verification of conformity in the form of an EC-Type Examination Certificate can be a statutory requirement. For other manufacturers it can be a contractual requirement placed on them by their end-user customers, or simply a way of demonstrating the quality and reliability of their product.

Whatever the reason for requiring an EMC EC-Type Examination to be completed by an EMC Notified Body, Technology International can provide an efficient, responsive and cost effective service that will meet the individual needs of each customer.
