Suppling training & project management activities for high-profile international oil company

With no prior experience in CE Marking or relevant European Directives, including the Machinery Directive, EMC Directive or the Low Voltage Directive, the client’s requirement was – at first – to simply provide three days of training on CE Marking to staff in Monaco. From here, Technology International’s impressive experience and knowledge in the area meant that we were soon assisting the client as part of a multi-billion-pound redevelopment in the Shetland Islands. Specifically in the design and building of a Turret Mooring System (TMS) for a high-profile offshore energy company.

The client’s role in the redevelopment project contractually required them to ensure that all components obtained the correct CE Marking and should meet all applicable European Directives, this included EMC, Machinery Safety and ATEX. Once all relevant training had been provided, at various locations around the world (Korea, Singapore and Aberdeen), Technology International began developing a CE Marking strategy which included reviewing and assessing that all the designs were meeting CE compliance.

This involvement was furthered by a Technology International Consultant being placed in Monaco on a full-time basis for 12 months to manage CE compliance on the TMS during the crucial construction and delivery phase. The role encompassed all aspects of the project including: liaising with suppliers to ensure sub-systems were CE compliant; coordinating all internal CE Marking activities; working with high-profile oil group and other key suppliers to the project; and finally, assessing compliance during the construction phase of the building yard in Singapore.

Once the TMS was installed, Technology International continued in their support by completing the final EMC assessments in Ulsan, South Korea. Throughout the project the client was impressed with Technology International’s professionalism, attention to detail and commitment to the enterprise.

The project management services offered by Technology International allowed for the smooth and timely delivery of the project, with all contractual compliance met successfully.
